ReachOut Code of Conduct – Short Form

  1. Engage with activities.
  2. Follow instructions.
  3. Work as a team member.
  4. Do not disrupt the learning of others.
  5. No offensive or bullying language.
  6. No threatening behaviour (verbal, physical or written/cyber).
  7. No discrimination of any kind.
  8. No illegal substances on the premises.
  9. No mobile phones during sessions unless instructed.
  10. No social media.
  11. No taking of photos of peers and staff.
  12. Let someone know if you leave the building. You must sign in and out.

 

This code of conduct ensures that ReachOut is a Safe Space for all.

Failure to follow this will result in:

  • Verbal warning.
  • Written warning.
  • Dismissal from course.

ReachOut’s Code of Conduct – Full Version 

You are about to start a program of learning with ReachOut Creative Futures, in order for you to get the most out of your time with us we would ask you to follow and understand the following code of conduct.

I understand:

  • I will be asked to take part in a variety of activities in order for me to complete my program of study. In order for me to complete my work I will need to follow all instruction given by my tutors, work as part of a team and not disrupt the learning of other students on the course. 
  • I will not use any offensive language, threatening behaviour (verbal, physical, written/cyber) or bullying behaviour towards staff or other students and accept the equality standards set out by ReachOut with regards to others, race, colour, religion, identity and sexual orientation.
  • I will not bring any illegal substance onto the premises or be under the influence of any illegal substance while I am on the course.
  • We ask that mobile phones are switched off or silenced during session times, unless express permission has been given in certain circumstances.
  • We ask that you refrain from using social media while on the premises and under no circumstances post pictures of your peers or staff (you may however photograph your artwork, cooking etc).
  • You must let us know if you are unable to attend for any reason by 9.30am.  We will phone your parent/guardian to confirm absences and appointments. If you are not here by 9.30am we will phone and message you, and if there is no contact by 10am we will phone your parent/guardian.
  • You must let us know if you are leaving the building at break times or at any other time of the day (e.g. due to illness, prior appointments etc.).
  • In the event I borrow any equipment (e.g. laptop, camera etc.) I will complete a loan agreement form and items will be returned in good working order by the agreed date.
  • I understand failure to follow the code of conduct will result in the following:

 

1) Verbal warning.

2) Written warning which will be given to me and my parent, guardian or carer.

3) Dismissal from the course.

(ReachOut reserves the right to end a programme at any time if they feel it is the best course of action for you or other students).

 

What I can expect from ReachOut:

ReachOut will agree an individual programme of learning for you and give you all the assistance and tools needed in order for you to complete your program of learning.

ReachOut will listen to you and act on any concerns you may have.

ReachOut will signpost you to other external agencies for specific advice and guidance if requested.

Staff will treat you with respect at all times and follow our equality standards.

If at any time you are not happy with the service we are giving you, please let us know, or tell another person who can tell us on your behalf, so we can continue to support you.
